WM Phoenix Open: Former Sun Devil Reavie falls in playoff, Rahm, Mickelson make top-15

It took 73 holes to decide this year’s Waste Management Phoenix Open, and it certainly did not disappoint. After the scheduled 72 holes, Gary Woodland and Arizona State alumnus Chez Reavie were tied at 18-under.

Reavie fired back to back birdies to force the playoff while Woodland waited in the clubhouse, finishing his round nearly 45 minutes earlier.

It only took a single playoff hole for Woodland to be crowned champion, as he made par and Reavie squandered a bogey to place second in the Phoenix Open. Reavie missed out on an extra $500,000 but should still be happy with a $745,000 check after a solid weekend’s worth of work.
